Aquarium Light

Find the right aquarium light for your tank — from full-spectrum planted LEDs and premium WRGB fixtures to clip-on, bracket and submersible lights, plus UV sterilisers. A good light keeps fish colours vivid and helps live plants thrive. Browse by tank type below, or read our guides to choose with confidence. Every aquarium light ships across India.

How to choose an aquarium light

  • Fish-only tanks: a bright fish aquarium light makes colours pop. Any quality LED sized to your tank works well. Run it 6–8 hours a day.
  • Planted tanks: pick a full-spectrum or WRGB LED. Low-light plants need only a modest light. Carpets and red plants need high output plus CO2.
  • Marine & reef tanks: choose dedicated marine aquarium lighting with strong blue and actinic output to support corals and invertebrates.
  • Nano and bowl setups: compact clip-on and mini LEDs fit small tanks neatly.
  • Green water problems: a UV-C steriliser clears algae blooms. It does not grow plants.

Match the light length to your tank. Run it on a timer with a dark night period. Keep the tank out of direct sunlight to avoid algae.

Frequently asked questions

How many hours should I run my aquarium light?

Run most aquarium lights 6–8 hours a day on a timer with a consistent dark night period. Too much light encourages algae, so start low and increase only if your plants need it.

What light is best for a planted tank?

A full-spectrum or WRGB LED such as the Neo-Helios or Blue Pet Flat Nano sized to your tank length. Demanding carpets and red plants also benefit from added CO₂.

Will an aquarium light cause algae?

Light alone does not cause algae, but too long a photoperiod or direct sunlight can. Keep to 6–8 hours, balance nutrients, and use a UV-C steriliser like the Sunsun AUV-08A for green water.

Which light suits a nano or bowl tank?

A compact clip-on or mini LED such as the Bluepet N6 Neo+ fits nano tanks and bowls neatly without a bracket.
