Seachem Gold Buffer is a non-phosphate buffer that raises and stabilises pH for goldfish and African cichlid tanks, without feeding the algae growth that phosphate-based buffers can cause.
Depending on dose, Gold Buffer holds pH in the 7.2–7.8 range — the sweet spot most goldfish and many cichlid species need to thrive, which is especially useful if your local tap water runs soft or acidic.
It's a gentle, safe formula built from sodium, potassium, magnesium, and other bicarbonate salts, designed to enhance the freshwater environment without stressing your fish.
How to use: Dose according to your current pH reading and desired target — start conservatively and retest before adjusting further, since large, rapid pH swings are more stressful to fish than a stable, slightly-off pH.
