Tillandsia brachycaulos 'Multiflora' is a lush green air plant that blushes vivid red as it comes into bloom, often throwing multiple flowers — a vibrant, soil-free plant for open terrariums, glass displays and vivariums.

Care at a glance

• Light: bright, indirect light; avoid harsh midday sun.
• Watering: no soil needed — mist 2–3 times a week, or soak for 15–20 minutes once a week, then shake off excess and let it dry fully within a few hours.
• Mounting: glue or wire onto driftwood, cork or rock, or rest it in an open holder — good airflow is essential.
• Climate: easy in India’s warmth; never leave it constantly wet.

Where it thrives

An open or glass terrarium, or mounted on a vivarium or paludarium background above the waterline. Air plants need airflow, so they are not suited to sealed closed terrariums. Grow it above the waterline — it is not aquatic and must not be submerged.
